To be honest, I didn't have any great expectations about this second gig of the new line-up of SD. Why? Well, a gig on a Monday night is not exactly something that any musician/wannabe musician is really looking forward to. Most of the crowd has to stay sober to be able to go to work the next morning, and the Finnish audience in general and Helsinki audience in particular is not exactly active when they're sober. That's just a fact of life. Anyway, this one turned out to be a quite nice gig. The guys from Elenium were really cool and they're a fucking great band live. Of course the beer drinking in the backstage area was even greater... ;) Anyway, after Elenium had finished their set it was our time to make some noise. So we did. And it was good. Yet again we played quite long set but that's the way at least I like it - I fucking hate those gigs where you have to spend the fucking entire day doing all the road crew stuff and soundcheck and shit - only to get told that "you're allowed to play for no longer than 25 minutes". What the hell is that? Well, our "headlining band" status on this godforsaken Monday night made it possible to play for as long as we liked. This time the show lasted for about an hour and contained all the usual SD tricks plus a couple of new ones. Tuberculosis managed to get part of the audience to sing/scream with us. It was actually kinda fun listening to people shouting "KILL THEM ALL!" during the choruses of Everyone Must Die. After Tuberculosis managed to break one of the microphones (or was it just the cable?) Koskinen couldn't do any backing vocals, so it was just me and Tuberculosis doing the shouting. Another first for us: we played Horse from the first EP. Twice, actually. The crowd loved that one for some entirely fucked up reason so we had to repeat it. After that it was time for the infamous song by Terveet Kädet, throwing my bass on the floor and that was it. Bye bye Helsinki & see you next time. A good gig even though most of the audience was not active at all.
