It finally was the time for "the return of Spirit Disease". After all the shit of the previous year it felt really good to be packing up the gear at the rehearsal place. Immu from Metal Warning had arranged this gig for us and he also helped us with getting all the gear to Factory. Thank you! After arriving to the club and meeting the guys from the other bands and setting up our shit on stage it was time for the soundcheck. It was quite OK, but I must admit that the gear at Factory is really crappy. Well, a decent sound was finally achieved and so it was time for the usual shit: waiting and drinking beer. At 10.15 pm we hit the stage and from then on everything is a bit of blur to me - and that has been a sign of a good gig for me ever since I played my first gig back in 1990. I felt a bit weird at first not having Mattila and Taskula up there on the stage, but that didn't last for long. Instead of that I felt pride about the new guys. Tuberculosis is definitely one hell of a frontman and Toivonen is rock solid behind his drum kit. This line-up seriously kicks ass. Anyway, back to the show: the audience really seemed to like the stuff from the new album and the old "crowd pleasers" from Redemption Denied got a warm welcome too from the fans. At the end of the set we decided to play one more tune that was not on the setlist, and of course it was the song that we have played for a while now occasionally - the immortal classic "Pissaa ja paskaa" by the Finnish hardcore legends Terveet Kädet. At the end of the song I threw my bass away and that was it then. Mission accomplished! More beer, please!
