Just to piss everyone off we and Twisted Face have decided to release something new by Spirit Disease - an Internet single. And it's released NOW. That means you get two songs and the covers completely free. One song is off Annihilation (previously not available for downloading) and the other one is a previously unreleased outtake from the Annihilation sessions.

New distributors for Annihilation!

Norway - Aftermath
Germany - Cyclone Empire
Portugal - Recital
USA - The End Records

Definitely not a "worldwide distribution" yet, but it's a beginning anyway. Thanks to Firebox for arranging all that.

Deathchain cancelled their gig at Gloria tomorrow and they were replaced by URN. The showtimes:

21.00 Hateform
22.00 Spirit Disease
23.00 Must Missa
00.00 URN
18 November 2006
What a bunch of unlucky fucks we are. We have a (temporary?) line-up change coming up. Toivonen is suffering from a bad knee injury and he's been ordered by his doctor to stop playing. He will leave the band in January to get some physiotherapy and if that doesn't fix the problem a surgery might be needed. The knee will probably heal and he'll probably return to SD within a few months, but there's a slight possibility that he might be unable to play drums ever again. But that's the worst case scenario. Obviously this means that we have had to find a new guy to play with us. Rainer Tuomikanto from Causemos is the guy. Atte Karstila from Exordium has agreed to help us too if Rainer is for some reason unavailable. So things should be OK even though line-up changes seriously suck ass. Always.

I'm also sorry to inform you that we had to cancel our gig at Tampere for reasons which I won't mention here. We'll probably play there in 2007 anyway, so you'll get a chance to see us live then.

Showtimes for the 25 November gig at Gloria, Helsinki:

21.00 Hateform
22.00 Spirit Disease
23.00 Must Missa
00.00 Deathchain

The most important piece of information about the gig is probably this: doors open at 20.00 and the happy hour is from 20.00 to 22.30. So get your sorry asses there and get drunk!
23 October 2006
A new SD interview in Finnish by Korroosio.net can be read HERE. Also a review of Annihilation (it got 4½/5!) can be read there.
14 October 2006
Here's the showtimes for tonight's gig at Kantis, Helsinki (Ruoholahdenkatu 4):

Nowen 22.00
Spirit Disease 23.00

Be there or be a wanker. As a bonus for every metalhead the beer is very cheap there (2,50 Euros/0.5 l), so get your ugly asses over there and get very drunk and noisy. The drunk & noisy audiences are always the best ones anyway! Ha!

Other news: me & Tuberculosis just did this interview with Miasma Mag. You'll get to read more bullshit by us probably in December. Be afraid.
01 October 2006
A Spirit Disease interview and a review of Annihilation is in the next issue (#40) of Inferno magazine, so buy the fucking thing. The magazine will be available just about everywhere in Finland on 6 October. At the moment it seems that there will be more SD interviews coming up in magazines later this year so I feel sorry for you guys already. Our interviews are always full of all kinds of stupid shit being said by us and you have to actually pay to read that crap! ;)
16 September 2006
Annihilation is now available from Firebox too. You can also buy the Redemption Denied EP from there, so get ordering NOW if you're really interested.
13 September 2006
Some distributors are now confirmed! Firebox will be distributing the CD throughout Finland. It will be also available through Firebox's web store: in English / in Finnish.

The CD will be available from Levykauppa Äx/Recordstore X across Finland as well. You can already order it from their web store: in English / in Finnish.

Pre-order Annihilation (within Finland)
Pre-order Annihilation (outside Finland)
12 September 2006
On the next issue of Inferno magazine will be an Spirit Disease interview. Check that one out if you're interested. If not, fuck off.

It seems that problems with availability (distribution problems) with Annihilation have been solved and in the near future it will be much easier to find the album from record stores and webstores in Finland. More details about that later.

Time flies: it's been four years since the birth of this band! It was mid-September 2002 when this horrible noise machine got started by yours truly. So far it's been fun for the most of the time and we've managed to make two CD's. Not bad considering all the bad luck and line-up changes... and definitely not bad considering the fact that Spirit Disease was meant to be just a side-project and a reason to get drunk and make some noise, nothing serious...
24 August 2006
Me, the fat bastard bass player of Spirit Disease will be playing some of my favorite METAL cd's and talking bullshit with Mega Kuusinen on Pommiradio on 30 August 2006 between 6pm and 10pm. The show can be listened through the Internet by clicking THIS LINK and then clicking the Pommiradio logo somewhere on the page that opens. I will be playing only death/thrash/speed/crossover stuff, so don't expect to hear any glam shit. ;)
14 August 2006
The first review of Annihilation was released last week by Imperiumi.net and the album got 9 out of 10 points. Thanks, guys. Not much else going on at Camp SD, except for the fact that we have a few interviews to do in the near future. We have also started rehearsing some new stuff for the next album. What else? Trying to get some gigs to play at the moment, but if we actually manage to get ANY gigs remains to be seen. Something in October in Helsinki probably.
03 August 2006
This is totally unimportant piece of news to everyone who's not living in the Helsinki area, but to those who live here, here's some good news: even though the official release date is on 8 August, there's already a few copies of Annihilation available at Keltainen Jäänsärkijä in Helsinki. Go there & buy some horrible noise for yourself!
30 July 2006
Thanks to everyone who came to see us yesterday at Factory. We had fun and it seems that the new line-up and the new songs work really well live. A gig report & possibly some photos will appear on this site later.
23 July 2006
It's still unknown whether or not we will have Annihilation available at the Factory gig next Saturday. Well, we will definitely have the album out by the time of our recently confirmed next gig on 04 September at On the Rocks, Helsinki. Will that be the album release gig/party or not? Who knows? Who cares? ;)

The album will be available from our record label's website on 8 August 2006. First it's available ONLY from there, but later it will be available all over Finland as soon as the label gets the CD's shipped to the distributors.
16 July 2006
We have been informed by the label that the CD's are being manufactured NOW. This means that with any luck we might have a few copies of Annihilation for sale at our next gig. The official release date of the album (or more exactly: the date when the CD will be available in the record stores) is still unknown. Most likely in August anyway.
22 June 2006
Spirit Disease has signed a recording contract with Twisted Face, a small Finnish label. Annihilation will be released in July/August 2006. Check out the label's website for more details.
18 June 2006
The date for the debut gig of the new (and improved?) Spirit Disease line-up was changed. It's not on 28 July as previously announced - it's on 29 July. A minor change but who gives a fuck? We'll be playing with two doom metal bands so that should be really interesting.

What about that recording contract that I mentioned a few weeks ago? Well, it was signed by us. That's all I'm allowed to tell now.
11 June 2006
Two songs from our forthcoming album can now be listened at our MySpace site. One of them is available for download too. The songs are "Delusions Of Grandeur" and "What's Got To Do With It?". Enjoy.
25 May 2006
The album was mastered yesterday and it sounds even better now.

The Spirit Disease track Defenceless Prey has been chosen as Mikseri.net's 'Track of the week'. That's quite nice, thanks. At least it has been downloaded a fucking lot of times because of that. Great stuff.

What about the record deal? Well, I have this contract in front of me that we just might sign...
11 May 2006
The compilation album Demonstration Of Penetration 2 will be released tomorrow. Once again it's a very limited edition thing, so if you want it you should probably order it now. Most of the bands are from Finland but there's some US & Mexican groups too. Interesting stuff to say the least.

What about our album, Annihilation then? Well, it seems that we will sign with this new very small Finnish label. More news about that later.
10 April 2006
One of the tracks (Delusions Of Grandeur) from the forthcoming album Annihilation will be released on a compilation CD by Violent Journey Records. On the CD will be bands from USA and Finland, so that's new for us I suppose...

What label will release Annihilation is still uncertain, but I think that we'll know a lot more about that within a few weeks time. There's something going on.
25 March 2006
Ladies and gentlemen, the new Spirit Disease album is ready, and it's called Annihilation. One new track has been added to the files section of this site. An early version of the song was released in the autumn on the Miasma compilation, but this version is 100% better. Check it out. For more details about the sessions, check out the diary. The release date is still unkown to us. Also this album will not be released by Vortex Motions Records, so we still need to find a new label to release it.
23 March 2006
Tomorrow is the final mixing day and then the album is ready. OK, we'll have to figure out a way to get the damn thing mastered, but at least our work at D-Studio is over tomorrow.
19 March 2006
The diary includes more details of our recording sessions, but to keep things short I just have to say that everything has been recorded now. Toivonen and Koskinen are still at the studio doing some editing thing. Mixing will start during next week.
12 March 2006
No, we will definitely not split up. We've spent last three days & nights recording and the stuff is very good and lethally heavy. Seriously. But more about that stuff by clicking HERE.
10 March 2006
Today we will start recording our full length album and I seriously think it will be a fucking good one. It should be much better than Redemption Denied. If it's not, well, then we have failed to create anything worth releasing and we will fucking split up. Or not. We're a bunch of stubborn fuckers anyway. Expect some updates during the next few weeks with new photos and possibly some kind of a studio diary or something. Perhaps even a new song or two.
19 February 2006
Here it comes - the list of songs we're planning to record at the D-studio in a few weeks time. Some of these will probably not be on the final album, but we'll record them anyway. Here we go:

  • Annihilation
  • Covered In Warm Blood
  • Defenceless Prey
  • Delusions Of Grandeur
  • Jokainen ihminen on luodin arvoinen
  • Reign Of Tyranny
  • Scared To Live (Afraid To Die)
  • The Angel Of Cancer And Plague
  • The Deathlike Gloom
  • Ultimate Sacrifice
  • What's God Got To Do With It?
  • When The Walls Came Crumbling Down
  • Wish You Were Dead

We will also record one cover version (an old Finnish HC punk classic).
  • 29 January 2006
It's 2006 already. So what? Here's the news that some people have probably been waiting for: Spirit Disease will finally start the recordings of the full length CD that was supposed to be recorded a long time ago. We will return to D-Studio to get this thing finally done. We have a stable line-up now and enough new songs so it shouldn't be a problem. I can't give you an exact and final tracklisting yet, since we're still working on a couple of new songs & we're not sure of which ones we will choose to record at D-Studio. Then there's this thing with cover versions too. We have been playing two cover tunes by two legendary Finnish bands, but no decisions have been made about those either. We might actually try to record both of them. Or not. Ha ha! The album title is not 100% sure either and there's some record label issues to be solved too. So there's still lots of decisions to be made. The only thing that is certain is the fact that between 10th and 19th of March the infamous D-Studio belongs to the dumbfucks of Spirit Disease. Yes, we will do our best to avoid the bars and pubs near the studio. Mission impossible?
